PROF. ARNOLD BENZ

Arnold Benz is Emeritus Professor at the Institute for Astronomy at the ETH Zurich. Among his main areas of research are the processes that take place within stellar atmospheres and during star formation. He  is also  Director of a project to develop instruments for an European Space Agency satellite. In 2011 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Theological Faculty of the University of Zurich for his interdisciplinary work in the area of Faith and Science.

PROF. BARBARA DROSSEL

Barbara Drossel is  Professor of Theoretical Physics at TU Darmstadt. She has studied and worked in Germany, France, Israel, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She studies complex systems, and she models ecosystems, gene regulatory networks und evolutionary processes. Additionally she has widely contributed to the dialogue between Theology and Science and was awarded the Bad Herrenalber Akademiepreis in 2011 for  her contributions.

PROF. PETER C. HÄGELE

Until his retirement in 2006, Peter C. Hägele was  Professor of Physics at the Institute for Applied Physics of the University of Ulm. He has worked in the field of liquid crystal polymers (molecular modelling, lattice dynamics, phase transitions). In addition, he has studied questions of scientific theory (general model theory) and questions at the interface of Faith and Science. He was the Academic Senate’s authorised representative for the “studium generale” for several years. Since 2009 he has  taught at the Humboldt Study Centre for Humanities and Philosophy (HSZ) at the University of Ulm. He is a member of the following organisations: Committee of Experts for Polymers of the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (Bad Honnef), Directorate of the Science Section of the Akademiker-SMD (Marburg), Karl-Heim-Gesellschaft (Berlin), Humboldt-Studienzentrum (Ulm), and Board of Trustees of the Institut für Glaube und Wissenschaft (Marburg).

PROF. ALFRED KRABBE

Alfred Krabbe is  Professor of Airplane Astronomy and Extraterrestrial Space Missions. He has taught and researched at various German universities and at Berkeley, California. He is the Director of the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) at the University of Stuttgart.

John Lennox is  Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford. He has published widely on the topic of Science and Faith. He is particularly well-known for his public debates with New Atheists like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens.

PROF. ALISTER MCGRATH

Alister McGrath is Professor of Theology at King’s College London. He initially studied Chemistry at Oxford and was awarded a D.Phil. for his research in Molecular Biophysics. He also studied Theology,   ministering in the Anglican Church and  going on to teach Theology at Oxford University. He has published widely on many subjects of Historical and Systematic Theology. The relationship between Faith and Science is one of his main areas of research.
